For the second time in a week the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a work release inmate who failed to return to the jail. The Sheriff’s office says 36 year old Connie Smiley failed to return to jail Wednesday. She has an active arrest warrant through Dodge County. Her last known address is located on Maple Ridge Road, Oconomowoc, WI. She was last seen at a duplex on N. Fairfield Avenue in Juneau on 01/30/19, and may be in the presence of an individual with a black “lifted” truck. Smiley was serving a 160 day Huber sentence at the Dodge County Jail for Contempt of Court. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office at (920) 386-3726 or your local law enforcement agency.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
