A semi driver was seriously injured in a crash in Fond du Lac County and a motorist who stopped later due to traffic control was injured in a separate accident. The first crash happened shortly before 8:30pm Friday on Highway F near Highway 175. A semi drove off the shoulder, over a guard rail, going airborne, landing on the railroad tracks about 30 feet below. With assistance from Oakfield firefighters and Fond du lac ambulance, the driver was able to climb out of his semi and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. About 10pm Friday at F and Hickory Road, a man stopped and exited his vehicle to speak with some Oakfield firefighters working traffic control, but accidentally left his vehicle in reverse. He was struck by the car door and front tire. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
