The deputy director of the liberal group One Wisconsin Now says concerns about a Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate are not about his faith. Documents obtained by the organization show candidate Brian Hagedorn helped create and serves on the board of a private Christian elementary school that prohibits anyone working there from being in a same-sex relationship and could expel students who are LGBTQ. Hagedorn dismissed the concerns as part of a “smear” by his opponents. But One Wisconsin Now deputy director, Mike Brown says Hagedorn’s words and actions to date do not give anyone a reason to trust what he says or that he will treat everyone equally before the law. Hagedorn, a state appeals court judge, faces chief Appeals Court judge Lisa Neubauer in the April 2 election.
