A shooting incident in the city of Fond du Lac this week is in custody. WFDL news was first to report Wednesday evening that Fond du Lac police had arrested 25 year old Mohamed Elmhdati in connection with the shooting outside the D&D Tavern on the corner of West Division Street and Lincoln Avenue Tuesday afternoon. Police recovered the suspect’s vehicle Tuesday evening and Elmhdati was taken into custody without incident Wednesday evening at approximately 6:45 p.m. by members of the Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT team at an address in the 100 block of North Sophia Street. Police say Elmhdati shot a 25 year old Fond du Lac man in the leg and then fled the scene. The victim was treated at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du lac for non life-threatening injuries. Elmhdati faces charges of attempted first degree intentional homicide and armed robbery.
