Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a home in Fond du Lac County. Shortly before 9:30am Thursday, firefighters were called to the Tom and Julie Hilbert residence located at W7256 Hunter Lane in the Town of Oakfield. Two people and a pet dog were able to get out of the house safely. The house sustained water and smoke damage, but no structural damage. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
