MADISON, Wis. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Advocates say Wisconsin's nearly 400 nursing facilities are in crisis due to a shortage of workers and the low Medicaid reimbursement rate. Health groups Wisconsin Health Care Association and LeadingAge Wisconsin have requested that lawmakers allocate about $83 million in the next two-year budget to help the state's nursing facilities cover costs and avoid closure. 2-18-19 semi crashes on rr tracks in fdl county

2-18-19 drug enforcement grants

The state attorney general says local law enforcement and drug enforcement groups in 48 Wisconsin counties will benefit from grants to fight drug trafficking.   The Lake Winnebago MEG  Drug Unit, which includes Fond du Lac County has received a $50,000 grant.  Attorney General Josh Kaul says while there is a need to expand access to substance abuse treatment, investigators also need the resources to dismantle drug trafficking organizations.

2-18-19 fdl school district referendum informational meetings

The Fond du lac School District has rescheduled an information meeting  on a major building referendum.  The Rosenow Elementary session that was postponed last week because of the snowstorm has been rescheduled  to  Wednesday February 27.    There will be two questions on the April ballot.  The first asks voters for permission to spend more than $90 million for upgrades at all school district buildings and the second $7 million question […]

2-18-19 boeing 747 anniversary-eaa

The EAA will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Boeing 747 this  summer.   The iconic wide-body  jetliner that has carried everything from heads of state to the space shuttle will be celebrated at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019.   Several Boeing 747s are expected to make appearances  at  AirVenture during the week with  fly-bys  and displays.

Fond du Lac’s Moraine Park Technical College is accepting applications  for three open positions on their District Board.  Applications for the employer, employee and additional board member openings must be received  by Friday February 22. The three year terms will end in June 2022.
