2-14-19 beaver dam man sentenced to prison in meth case

A Beaver Dam man convicted of dealing methamphetamine is going to prison.  Dodge County judge Steven Bauer sentenced 35 year old Chad Jeche to seven and a half years in prison and five years of extended supervision.  Jeche was convicted of selling methamphetamine to undercover  officers with the Dodge County Drug Task Force.

2-14-19 lawmakers want to ban minors from buying e-cigarettes

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican lawmakers are circulating a bill that would prohibit minors from buying e-cigarettes and other vapor products.  Sen. Andre Jacque and Reps. Janel Brandtjen and Barbara Dittrich sent the bill around to their colleagues for co-sponsorship on Wednesday. (AP) — A 13-year-old Wisconsin girl who spent 88 days in captivity after a violent abduction is thanking supporters from around the world.  Jayme Closs was taken in October in an attack that included the shotgun slayings of her parents, James and Denise Closs, at the family's home. 2-14-19 record breaking snowstorm

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — This week's snow storm in Wisconsin is a record breaker for some communities.  The snow total reached 15.7 inches in Wausau Tuesday, shattering the 1-day snowfall record for the city previously set at 13 inches in 1924 and 1908.  Some impressive snow totals were seen around the state Tuesday, including 14.2 at Plover and 13.9 at Rhinelander. 2-14-19 snowstorm crashes

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says fortunately there were no serious injury crashes during this week’s snow storm.  Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says deputies responded to more than  three dozen crashes Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.  Tadych says there were 33 crashes on Tuesday and another half dozen early Wednesday morning.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Tony Evers says Wisconsin will be joining the U.S. Climate Alliance, a group that works to implement an international climate accord and combat climate change at the state level.  Neighboring Michigan became the 20th state to join the alliance last week. The Johnson School Bus company is being sold.  After nearly 80 years of family ownership the company is being sold to Canada-based Landmark Student Transportation.  The sale is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
