The design of a new Fond du Lac Lakeside Park pavilion will be discussed at a future Fond du Lac city council workshop after several council members expressed concerns with a concept plan for the pavilion. At their meeting last week, some councilmembers said they felt the new pavilion was too utilitarian in its appearance and was not attractive enough to draw people to Fond du Lac. The comments caught Fond du Lac Public Works director Jordan Skiff a bit off guard. “Several of the council members want to see a facility that’s more distinctive, maybe pops a little bit more, also something that is unique enough that it draws people to the city specifically just to see the pavilion,” Skiff told WFDL news. “That’s a different scope than what we told the architect to work with.” Skiff says the architect who designed the plan has extensive experience in this area and was following the guidelines provided by the city. Skiff suggested the council meet as a committee of the whole after the spring election to discuss the matter further.
