3-6-19 shilling-budget

todayMarch 6, 2019

The senate Democratic leader says there are a lot of things in the budget that Democrats  have waited eight years to hear.   Senator Jennifer Shilling says Governor Tony Evers’ proposed budget reflects his education background as a former public school superintendent and state superintendent.  Shilling says Republicans who are critical of the governor’s budget are still in denial that a Democrat is in the governor’s office.   Shilling says many of the items included in the budget are things the governor campaigned on.  “A strong education investment both in our K through 12 schools but also in our universities and technical schools,”  Schilling told WFDL news.  “He talked about new money for special education, something that has been flat for the last ten years.”
