Former City Council President Rob Vande Zande endorsed Daniel Degner for City Council. Regarding the endorsement, Vande Zande said, “After speaking with Daniel Degner I am endorsing him for FDL City Council. Dan is a man that will speak for all the citizens of Fond du Lac. He is a budget conservative and wants to keep taxes low. He will make FDL a community that welcomes businesses and people to this great city. I urge everyone to get out and vote Degner for City Council.” Degner, commented, “I’m thankful for the support from former City Council President Vande Zande. We’ve run our campaign on ‘a fresh perspective.’ Endorsements like this are just a further example of what the voters in Fond du Lac want.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
