The Wisconsin DOT is hosting a public information meeting this week on a major highway reconstruction project in Eden. The meeting will be held starting at 5:30pm Thursday at the Eden Village Hall. The project involves reconstructing Highway 45 between Elm Street and the north village limits. Construction started last fall and will restart next month. The purpose of the meeting is to provide the public and property owners construction information.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
