todayMarch 13, 2019

Six candidates are running for three seats on the Fond du lac city council in the spring election.   Challenger Jim Lorrigan is the son of former council president Lee Ann Lorrigan.  “My mom was on city council for six years, she spent a few years as city council president, and that kind of got me interested in municipal government,”  Lorrigan told WFDL news.  “I just moved back to Fond du Lac about a year ago.  I graduated from college in Stevens Point where I was in student government there.”    Brian Kolstad is running for his third term on council.  “Serving the community has kind of been my passion for the last 5 years since coming back from grad school in various capacities,”  Kolstad told WFDL news.   Kolstad also serves on the Fond du Lac county board.   If he is re-elected Kolstad says economic development would be his top priority.  Lorrigan says community safety, downtown revitalization and attracting more young people to the community are his top priorities.   The other candidates include former councilmember Derek Terbeest and challengers, Alicia Hans, Daniel Degner and Stephanie O’Malley.
