3-15-19 fdl city officials to motorists: don’t drive around the barricades

todayMarch 15, 2019

Fond du Lac Emergency management officials are warning motorists not to drive around the barricades blocking flooded streets.   Emergency management director Bobbie Hicken says the barricades are in place because the roads are dangerous for motorists.  While the flood water has receeded  in some areas, it has worsened in other areas along the west branch of the Fond du Lac River.   Johnson Street is closed between Pioneer Road and Main Street.   Additional  rain yesterday afternoon and last night also flooded several city streets west of the river.  Fond du Lac fire chief Pete O’Leary says the fire department continued to rescue people who were stuck in high water.
