The city of Fond du Lac will be offering curbside collection of flood-related bulky waste items and extended hours at the bulky waste drop off site. Starting Tuesday the city will begin curbside collection in areas affected by the flooding within a map boundary, found on the city’s website. Meanwhile the city’s bulky waste drop off site will be open until 7pm through Friday and will be open Saturday from 7am to 3:30 pm for city residents only. The city will not be disposing electronics, tires or hazardous items.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
