3-21-19 madison gas station owner sentenced to prison for selling synthetic marijuana

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal judge has sentenced a Madison-area gas station chain owner to two-and-a-half years in prison for selling synthetic marijuana and possessing untaxed chewing tobacco. U.S. District Judge James Peterson sentenced Farooq Shahzad on Wednesday. He also ordered Shahzad to pay $1 million in fines.
