A Brandon teenager has been convicted of sexually assaulting a young girl. Eighteen year old James Iverson Jr. pleaded no contest to amended charges of causing a child to view a sex act and exposing genitals to a child. A charge of first degree sexual assault of a child was dismissed and read into the record. He was accused of sexually assaulting a four year old girl his mother was babysitting. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 3.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
