MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Madison judge has stopped short of issuing a ruling in a lawsuit challenging Wisconsin Republicans' lame-duck laws limiting Democratic Gov. 3-18-19 natural gas detected in fdl storm sewer system

Some Fond du lac residents were evacuated Monday afternoon after natural gas was detected in the storm sewer system.  Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says the high natural gas readings were detected in a neighborhood near 13th Street and South Park Avenue.  South Park between 15th and Boyd Street was blocked to traffic and Alliant Energy was called to the scene.  Power was shut off to about 100 […]

3-18-19 shopko closing remaining stores

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin-based retail chain Shopko Stores plans to close its remaining 120 department stores by mid-June.  ShopKo said Monday the company was unable to find a buyer for its business. 3-18-19 flood clean-up volunteers needed in fdl

Dozens of volunteers gave up their Sunday to help Fond du lac residents clean up in the aftermath of last week’s devastating flood.   The volunteers gathered at a Volunteer Reception Center set up at the Pilgrim United Church of Christ on Stow Street to get their assignments, pick up their clean-up kits,  and assist residents who had dialed 2-1-1 for assistance.  The volunteer effort,  is coordinated by Emergency Management, Public […]

3-18-19 fdl man seriously injured in rollover crash

A Fond du Lac man was seriously injured in a rollover crash on a railroad overpass in Fond du Lac County.    The crash happened Friday night on Highway 151 near Hickory Road.  Witnesses say a vehicle struck a railway overpass and that there was one individual trapped  inside of the vehicle.  When rescue personnel arrived, the driver and lone occupant,  Daniel T.
