3-5-19 oshkosh murder-suicide

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Police say an Oshkosh woman was fatally shot by the father of her child, who then took his own life.  Authorities say 26-year-old Clint Jorgensen called 911 about 4 p.m. Saturday. MILWAUKEE (AP) — A University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee professor is accused of sexually assaulting a student he was advising in a PhD program.  Fifty-eight-year-old Anthony Azenabor is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree sexual assault. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin agriculture officials say they've seeing a dramatic increase in applications to grow and process hemp.  The state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection announced Monday that 1,405 individuals or businesses have applied to grow hemp in 2019, including 1,244 first-timers. 3-5-19 oakfield school referendum

Oakfield school officials are asking voters for permission to continue operating for the next five years.  Voters will go to the polls next month to decide a five year, $5.3 million operations referendum.   Superintendent Dr. Vance Dalzin says the new referendum will replace the current six year referendum that will expire at the end of the year.

3-5-19 heidel house resort and spa closing

A landmark resort in Green Lake is closing.  The Heidel House Resort and Spa in Green Lake will close May 20.   The company that owns the popular establishment says the resort has experienced revenue losses over the past decade, attributed in part to other nearby tourist hot spots including the Wisconsin Dells.  The Heidel House first opened its doors in 1945.  The resort is up for sale.
