A 23-year-old Beaver Dam man died early Tuesday morning when an SUV he was a passenger in drove off a bridge and landed upside down in the Beaver Dam River in downtown Beaver Dam. The Beaver Dam Fire Department says Jared H. Frakes was pronounced dead at Beaver Dam Community Hospital. A woman driving the vehicle was extricated from the vehicle and received non life-threatening injuries. Police say a two year old child initially reported missing and feared drowned was later found safe with relatives. Police are continuing their investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
