Jerry Jaye has been re-elected Lakeside Municipal Court judge. Jaye defeated Ripon attorney Doug Iverson in Tuesday’s spring election by nearly 700 votes. “Its very gratifying to see that as many people supported what we do in the court that did,” Jaye told WFDL news. “We try to run a fair and impartial court with integrity and respect for everybody.” Jaye was first elected when the court was established more than 20 years ago.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
