todayApril 25, 2019

The American Lung Association’s 20th annual State of the Air report shows air quality has worsened for ozone for much of the Fox Valley and northeast Wisconsin.   The annual report tracks Americans’ exposure to unhealthful levels of ozone and particle pollution.  Dona Wininsky with the Lung Association says Sheboygan, Manitowac, Door and Kewaunee counties all received an F grade for ozone.  Fond du Lac County received a C grade.   “I think I can very safely say,  however, that we hope that’s an anomoly.   It was due to three very hot summers which contribute to ozone,”  Wininsky told WFDL news.  Wininsky says Fond du Lac County has been steadily improving in the last 20 years and has received a passing grade for three straight years.  The report found while counties along Wisconsin’s lakeshore experienced more high ozone days, those farther away from Lake Michigan saw the levels drop slightly.
