4-4-19 ripon man charged with child sex assault

A Ripon man faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison if convicted of sexually abusing children.  Fifty seven year old Terry Lee Phillips made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Wednesday on 31 counts including repeated sexual assault of a child, child enticement, and physical abuse of a child. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Brian Hagedorn is declaring victory, even though his opponent says the race is almost certainly headed toward a recount. Hagedorn issued a statement early Wednesday morning saying his margin of victory in Tuesday's election is "insurmountable." Fond du lac School District residents have given the go ahead for for major building upgrades at all Fond du Lac public schools.  Voters have approved a $91.5 million referendum question to maintain and upgrade every school building in the  district and a second question to spend $7 million to make sure every school building in the district is air conditioned.  The first question passed with 6,694 yes votes to […]

4-3-19 oakfield school operations referendum passes

Oakfield School district residents have voted in favor of  a referendum to allow the district to continue operating.   Voters approved the  five year, $5.3 million operations referendum by a vote of 651 to 385.  Superintendent Dr. Vance Dalzin says the referendum will start with the 2020-21 school year.  "We really have a lot of support.  We're just so happy to see that it passed,"  Dalzin told WFDL news.

A portion of Division Street in downtown Fond du Lac is closed for the next couple of days.   Fond du Lac Public works says Division St.  between Main Street and Portland Avenue is closed starting Wednesday until the end of the day Friday to allow a contractor to complete permanent pavement restoration following sanitary lateral repairs.
