Marian University has added four new flags to the walls of Cardinal Meyer Library to honor three students and one staff member who have joined the school within the last year. The library’s collection of flags highlights Marian students, staff, and faculty born in other countries and sovereign and/or semi-sovereign nations. Those recognized were students Harley Kinney, Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa; Althea “Allie” Swan, Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe; Nu “Rosa” Nguyen, Vietnam; and staff member Lucy-Ann Muabe, Cameroon.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
