todayMay 7, 2019

The Fond du Lac County Health Department is warning families who might have been exposed to mumps.  The agency sent a letter to families, encouraging everyone to get the mumps vaccine so they’re better protected against the disease.  Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the Health Department confirmed its first mumps case a little more than a week ago.  Mumps symptoms include muscle aches, tiredness and a sore salivary gland around the jaw area.  The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says there have been five mumps cases in the state as of April 23. The CDC said mumps deaths are rare.
