A Fond du Lac man convicted in the heroin overdose death of a 29 year old woman is going to prison. Fond du Lac County Circuit judge Robert Wirtz sentenced 47 year old Shannon Carlson to six years in prison followed by six years extended supervision. Carlson earlier pleaded no contest to a charge of first degree reckless homicide in the September 2014 death of Jenna Reynolds. Investigators say he supplied the heroin that led to Reynold’s death at a Royal Avenue residence. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney, says the sentence shows there are consequences for delivering drugs that leads to a death of another person.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
