A Campbellsport man charged with his OWI tenth offense has been bound over for trial. Forty nine year old Timothy Mills was arrested earlier this month after slamming his boat into a pier on Long Lake and then driving away without reporting it. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says Mills was operating a boat on Long Lake when he struck the pier at N3910 Beach Avenue, destroying the pier. Tadych says Mills then loaded his boat on a trailer near Benson’s Hideaway and drove off. He was later arrested at his home in Campbellsport. In addition to drunken driving Mills was cited for operating a boat while intoxicated, and failing to report a boating accident.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
