A Campbellsport man accused of trying to kill his fiancée has been bound over for trial. Thirty three year old James Allen is charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide and aggravated battery. Allen is accused of stabbing his fiancée, Michele Fleischman, in the neck with a pocket knife while she was driving at highway speed south of Campbellsport in March. Investigators say the incident followed an argument between the couple. Allen is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $500,000 cash bail.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
