The City of Fond Du Lac Municipal Service Center is partnering with Universal Recycling Technologies to offer a one week electronic recycling event this week. Public Works director Jordan Skiff says you can drop off electronics items at the Municipal Service Center Bulky Waste Drop-Off Site at 530 Doty Street during regular hours of operation for City of Fond Du Lac Residents only. The program runs through Saturday. Payment for items dropped is CASH ONLY, credit cards and checks will not be accepted. You can drop off televisions for a $20 fee and CRT monitors for $10. There are NO FEES for several small electronics items including things like computers, laptops, DVD players, and small kitchen appliances.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
