5-6-19 fdl street closure

The Fond du lac Department of Public Works says a portion of East Division Street will be closed for a couple days this week.  The street will be closed between Marr Street and Park Avenue beginning Monday, May 6,  and will remain closed through the end of the day Tuesday, May 7.   The closure will be in place to allow for pavement repairs.

5-6-19 vos to appeal ruling allowing deposition over redistricting

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos plans to appeal a ruling that would allow a group of Democratic voters to question him about election boundaries.  A three-judge panel voted 2-1 Friday to approve the deposition of Vos over Republican-drawn legislative districts. 5-6-19 mercury marine expansion

Fond du Lac’s Mercury Marine is expanding.  The company is breaking ground on a $17 million, 30,000 square foot expansion of its propeller production facility.  Merc says the expansion will help keep up with an unprecedented demand right now for stainless steel propellers. The project is expected to be completed in about a year. The expansion will increase the size of the production facility to about 90,000 square feet.

5-6-19 waupun correctional officers attacked

Three Waupun prison correctional officers were transported to the hospital  after they were attacked by an inmate.  Sources tell WFDL news one officer was choked by the inmate during the incident Friday morning.   The officers were transported to the Waupun Memorial Hospital Emergency room where they were treated  and released.

5-4-19 ripon man bound over for trial on child sex assault charges

A Ripon man accused of sexually abusing children has been bound over for trial.   Fifty seven year old  Terry Lee Phelps waived his preliminary hearing Thursday on 43 counts including repeated sexual assault of a child,  child enticement, and physical abuse of a child.  He faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison if he is convicted.  Phelps  is accused of sexually abusing and providing marijuana […]

5-4-19 another restaurant planned for forest mall property

Another restaurant is planned for the Fond du Lac Forest Mall property.  Mod Pizza is set to open in June 2020  on the site where the old Firestone building is located.  Firehouse Subs announced earlier this year it would also be located on that site. Mod Pizza is a Seattle-based pizza chain that started in 2008 with 400 locations across the country and the United Kingdom.
