Bail has been set at $50,000 cash for one of two men arrested in connection with a pair of shooting incidents in Fond du Lac last month. Eighteen year old Guadalupe Mendez-Berry faces multiple charges including party to the crime of endangering safety- reckless use of a firearm, criminal damage to property and criminal damage to a vehicle. Twenty nine year old, Mario Marron Zavala also faces charges in the case. Nobody was injured in the shooting incidents in the 100 block of E. 2nd Street and at a residence on Morris Street near Military Road. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says investigators believe the suspects targeted both locations.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
