Beaver Dam police are investigating the discovery of a body in the Beaver Dam River. Shortly after 2pm Saturday Beaver Dam police responded to a 911 call where two kayakers found the body south of Cooper Street and north of Highway 151. The gender and identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. Police say the exact circumstances of the death is unknown and the investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Beaver Dam police.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
