A Fond du Lac man was critically injured when his motorcycle collided with a truck. The crash happened shortly before 4:30pm Sunday on Lakeshore Road near Cemetery Road in the town of Friendship. The Fond du lac County Sheriff’s Office says the motorcycle slammed into a truck that had slowed to turn into a driveway on Lakeshore Drive. The driver of the truck began his turning maneuver and entered the path of the southbound motorcycle, which collided with the truck, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The motorcycle operator, a 47 year old Fond du Lac man, was transported to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with what were described as critical injuries. A 37 year old female passenger from the Fond du Lac area was flown by helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Neither was wearing a helmet. The truck driver, a 58 year old Fond du Lac man, was not injured.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
