A Brandon teenager convicted of causing a child to view a sex act has been placed on probation. At a sentencing hearing this week Fond du Lac judge Robert Wirtz withheld a prison sentence and placed 18 year old James Iverson Jr. on probation for six years. Iverson pleaded no contest in March to amended charges of causing a child to view a sex act and exposing genitals to a child. A charge of first degree sexual assault of a child was dismissed and read into the record. He was accused of sexually assaulting a four year old girl his mother was babysitting.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
