Waupun police are investigating a possible attempted child enticement incident. Waupun Police detective Brian O’Donovan says police are investigating a report that a man offered a 10 year old girl candy and money. O’Donovan says the girl did not stop, and went home and told a parent. An officer checked the area but did not find a vehicle or the subject. O’Donovan says the incident happened shortly after 3:30pm Monday in the area of East Main and North Watertown Streets. The suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years old driving a black four door car.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
