The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims of a fatal head on collision south of Fond du Lac. Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says 53 year old Abel Rodriguez of Fond du Lac was killed Thursday when his car crossed the center line on Highway 175 near County Highway Y striking a pick-up driven by 51 year old Gary Peters of Theresa. Peters was seriously injured in the crash. Tadych says a preliminary investigation shows that driver fatigue may be a factor in the crash.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
