The Fond du lac School District has hired two new assistant principals. The school board last night approved the hiring of Nate Groves as a new assistant principal at Fond du lac High School and Kate Pogorelec as assistant principal at Sabish Middle School. Superintendent, Dr. Jim Sebert, says Groves was one of 65 people who applied for the post vacated by the resignation of assistant principal Steve Hernandez. Groves is an AP psychology teacher at the high school. Pogorelec is currently a special education teacher at Fond du Lac High School.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
