6-14-19 appleton prosecutor: officers justified in deadly shooting

APPLETON, Wis. 6-13-19 governor evers re-creates state pardons board

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Tony Evers has re-created Wisconsin's state pardons board, fulfilling a campaign promise the Democrat made to once again consider granting pardons after Republican Scott Walker halted the process eight years ago. The move doesn't require approval from the Republican-controlled Legislature that has mostly thwarted Evers' agenda since he defeated Walker.

6-13-19 fdl city council approves government center security ordinance

The Fond du Lac city council has approved an ordinance covering the new manned security checkpoint at the city-county government center.   The ordinance sets out how the screening process, entry and weapons will be handled .   If someone would violate the security ordinance,  city police officers would be able to  issue a citation.  Generally, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office will  handle security and enforcement.  City police would only be involved on the […]

6-13-19 fdl city council approves new contract for fire captains

The Fond du Lac city council has approved a new contract for the Fond du Lac Fire Supervisory Association.  The agreement for three fire captains includes a 2.25 percent wage increase this year,  a 2.5 percent increase next year and 2.75 percent increase in 2021.  The contract also includes increased  employee premium contributions for health insurance.

6-13-19 former waldo man charged with child sex assault

A former Waldo man faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life in  prison if convicted of sexually assaulting a child.  A plea and sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 7 for 27  year old David Duarte Alvarez  on  eight counts of  first degree child sex assault and three counts of child enticement.  He is accused of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13 multiple times at a  Fond du Lac residence.  […]
