MADISON, Wis. 6-11-19 shooting suspects bound over for trial

6-10-19 wla teacher forced to resign over teaching about female circumcision

A Fond du Lac Winnebago Lutheran Academy geography teacher has resigned after being given the option of resigning or being fired for  teaching about the global problem of female circumcision.    Twenty four year teaching veteran Daniel  Dettman says he resigned about three weeks ago because the school board determined the subject matter was inappropriate for his freshman geography class.   Dettman told WFDL news he talked about female circumcision in the context of […]

6-10-19 inmate assaults waupun prison correctional officer

There has been another staff assault by an inmate at the Waupun Correctional Institution.  Sources tell WFDL news an inmate repeatedly punched an officer in the face and head.  The officer was transported to the hospital emergency room where he was treated and released.  The incident happened Saturday night.

6-10-19 ironman triathalon fatal

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Authorities in Madison say one man died and another was in critical condition after being pulled from Lake Monona during the swim portion of the Ironman 70.3 Wisconsin triathlon.  Fire Department officials say the first man was found unresponsive in Lake Monona around 7:50 a.m. Sunday. 6-10-19 fdl man resuscitated after suffering heart attack at walleye weekend

6-10-19 hickory street bridge reopens

Fond du Lac Public Works says the Hickory Street Bridge over the West Branch of the Fond du Lac River has reopened.   The bridge had been closed for the past month to replace the existing bridge deck overlay.
