6-3-19 motorcycle crashes in fdl county

6-3-19 body found in beaver dam river

Beaver Dam police are investigating the discovery of a body in the Beaver Dam River.   Shortly after  2pm Saturday Beaver Dam police responded to a 911 call where two kayakers found the body south of  Cooper Street and north of Highway 151.  The gender and identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of  family members.  Police say the exact circumstances of the death is unknown and  the investigation is active and ongoing.   Anyone with […]

A Mayville-based company is expanding.  Metalcraft announced this week that construction is underway on a 100,000 square foot addition to its Beaver Dam facility.  Construction is expected to be completed in next summer.

An Eldorado teen has been crowned the Fond du Lac County Fairest of the Fair.  Nineteen year old  Cayley Vande Berg  was selected during judging Saturday night at the Radisson Hotel in Fond du Lac.  She is the daughter of Chad and Tammy Vande Berg.    Vande Berg is majoring in dairy science at UW-River Falls,  and is currently employed at Rosendale Dairy, Wisconsin’s largest dairy farm.  “I am currently employed […]

6-1-19 wi republicans say no to gas tax increase

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Legislature's top Republicans say they'll scrap Democratic Gov. Tony Evers' budget proposal to raise the gas tax to help pay for roads.  Evers' budget would raise the gas tax by 8 cents per gallon initially and then by about a penny annually to account for inflation. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new study says Wisconsin is lagging behind most of its Midwest neighbors in attracting highly educated workers.  Wisconsin Policy Forum says that based on 2017 data, 20% of Wisconsin natives ages 31 to 40 who had moved away from the state were highly educated. (AP) — A federal judge has rejected Shopko's bankruptcy plan.  U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Thomas Saladino applauded the efforts of Shopko officials, creditors, attorneys and consultants to bring the matter to a close.
