Wisconsin Clean Cities is partnering with RENEW Wisconsin and Cool Choices for the grand opening this month of the latest electric vehicle charging station in the Fox Valley. Clean Cities executive director, Lorrie Lisek, says the event will be held July 24 at Evergreen Credit Union in Neenah. Lisek tells WFDL news electric vehicle sales are at an all-time high and continue to rise exponentially every year. There are currently 5.6 million electric vehicles on the road worldwide, marking a 64 percent increase over 2017. Lisek says while electric vehicles continue to grow in popularity, hydrogen is still considered the fuel of the future. “That is the ultimate and I think that is where a lot of people are looking at going, but a lot of these technologies are bridging us toward that,” Lisek told WFDL news. “Right now its (hydrogen) not economically feasible, but we are seeing technology and evolution toward hydrogen as well.”
