Street maintenance projects dominate a proposed 2020 Fond du Lac Public Works Department budget. Public Works Director Jordan Skiff gave a budget overview at Wednesday night’s city council meeting. “We continue to work with the county not only on the Highway V reconstruction this year but the roundabout at the Knights of Columbus next year. We’re looking ahead to other Pioneer Road projects in conjunction with the county, the Arndt Street Bridge project we’ll be finishing up this year, a Military Road project in a couple of years and a Division Street Bridge in a few years,” Skiff told WFDL news. Meanwhile, Skiff says he’s confident the city can afford the more than $3 million in the budget for a new Lakeside Park Pavilion. The city manager told the council last month that general fund expenditures are forecast to increase 2.3 percent with a one percent increase in the property tax levy. The proposed budget will be published August 29.
