UNION GROVE, Wis. (AP) — A former Wisconsin dairy princess convicted of killing her ex-boyfriend's fiancee in a case featured in a made-for-TV movie is about to be released from prison. The Wisconsin Parole Commission has granted release for 50-year-old Lori Esker. Esker will be released Tuesday from a correctional facility. 7-16-19 fondy high school dance team qualifies for national competition

The Fond du Lac High School  Dance Team has been selected for a  National Dance competition next year.   Team coach, Meredith Metivier  says the team was selected following a National Dance Alliance Camp in Wisconsin Dells.   Metivier says the team will travel to Orlando, Florida next March for the National competition.  "We are so excited to have this opportunity to compete at the next level,"  Metivier told WFDL news.  The […]

7-15-19 waupun chicken ordinance

The Waupun Common Council is considering a new fee and permit structure to keep chickens in the city.   Under the city ordinance up to ten people  can apply to have up to four chickens.  Councilmember Jason Westphal proposed a $15 inspection fee, and $50 building permit for construction of a coop and caged space.   Fees vary from community to  community around the state.   Permits will be issued on a first-come, first served basis.  A waiting […]

A landmark Mayville Inn has closed.  The Audubon Inn on North Main Street has closed, as has the adjacent NOLA North Grille restaurant.  The hotel’s website says that the location is “temporarily closed”   and to check back for updates.
