A Fond du Lac man is a big lottery winner.   Matthew Ream of Fond du Lac, takes home $1 million by winning the top prize in the Millionairescratch game.  Ream purchased his winning ticket at R-Store  on North Pioneer Road in Fond du Lac.  There is one top prize remaining in this game.

7-26-19 truck stolen in ripon recovered in waupaca county

A construction truck stolen in Ripon has been recovered.  Ripon police captain Troy Damsteegt tells WFDL news the truck was found abandoned  in Waupaca County.  Damsteegt says the InterCon truck with a custom utility box was stolen early Monday morning  in Ripon.  Numerous pieces of construction equipment valued at thousands of dollars were inside the utility box including generators, and a  gas detector.   Damsteegt  says anyone with information is asked to call Ripon […]

7-26-19 storm damage clean up continues

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Damage cleanup and power restoration is ongoing in Wisconsin as a result of the recent destructive storms.   A report from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs pegs preliminary damage to the public sector at $1.9 million, but also notes many counties have not yet reported to the state.  The state Emergency Operations Center is monitoring power restoration. 7-25-19 fdl city council votes to change trick or treating day

After more than 30 years of trick or treating on the Sunday afternoon before Halloween  kids in Fond du Lac will be trick or treating on Saturday afternoons starting  this year.   The Fond du Lac city council voted to make the change at their  meeting  Wednesday night.  Council president Brian Kolstad and councilmembers Kay Miller and Donna Richards were in opposition.  Miller suggested moving the date back to Halloween.  City […]

7-25-19 local unemployment rate jumps

The local unemployment rate Is up in the latest reporting period.  In the city of Fond du Lac the unemployment rate for June stands at 3.4 percent.  That’s up from 2.5 percent in May.  In Fond du Lac County the jobless rate jumped eight tenths of a percent to 3.2 percent.  The June unemployment rate is 3.1 percent in Dodge County, up from 2.4 percent in May.

7-25-19 fdl man charged in shooting incident rejects plea deal

A new trial date will be set after a Fond du Lac man charged in a shooting incident earlier this year rejected a plea deal.  Under the plea agreement, a charge  of attempted first degree intentional homicide against 25 year old Mohamed Elmhdati, would have been dismissed and read into the record and an armed robbery charge  would have been amended to theft.  During a hearing Tuesday Elmhdati told the judge he had decided against accepting […]
