7-23-19 bicyclist killed in dane county

VERONA, Wis. (AP) — Dane County sheriff's deputies say a bicyclist has died after crashing into an SUV in the Town of Verona.  The collision happened shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday when the 56-year-old female bicyclist missed a stop sign at an intersection and struck a Ford Escape. She was pronounced dead at the scene.  The 34-year-old woman driving the Ford Escape was not injured.

7-22-19 pilot makes emergency landing in fdl county farm field

7-22-19 eleven rural hospitals in wi stop delivering babies

A new report shows 11 rural hospitals in Wisconsin including Ripon Medical Center in Fond du Lac County stopped routinely delivering babies  in the past 10 years.  The report by the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health said  closures were due to the challenge of a low number of both on-call providers and number of deliveries.   The report indicates that five of the 35 rural hospitals still providing obstetrics are at risk of ending the service, […]

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) — Parts of Wisconsin continue to recover from destructive weekend storms.  We Energies says nearly 21,000 remain without power Monday morning due to one of the most powerful storms to hit the Fox Valley in two decades. 7-20-19 reported bullying incidents in ripon school district down slightly

The latest figures show reports of bullying in the Ripon Area School District are down.  According to the report there were 62 incidents reported this year,  down slightly from 65 reported incidents last year.  Of the 62 reports,  40 were confirmed cases of bullying.   Last year only 30 of the 65 cases were confirmed as bullying incidents.  According to the report, the most reported incidents occurred at the higher grade levels during  the 2018-19 school […]
