MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's unemployment rate is up slightly after two months at a record low.  The state Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday that Wisconsin's unemployment rate for June was 2.9%, up slightly from the 2.8% in April and May. 7-18-19 fatal rollover crash in fdl county

A Waupun man was killed in a one vehicle rollover crash in Fond  du Lac County.  The crash happened shortly after 6am  Thursday on STH 49 north of Harmsen Rd in the Town of Alto.  Evidence at the scene indicated a southbound vehicle traveling on STH 49, left the roadway and  rolled over ejecting a 24 yr. old Waupun man who was operating the vehicle. Residents are advised to take precautions with a combination of dangerous hot  temperatures and high humidity over the next couple of days.  The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for much of southeast Wisconsin, including Fond du Lac and Dodge counties from noon Thursday through 11pm Friday.   National Weather Service meteorologist Ben Mueller says highs will reach the lower 90s Thursday with heat index values of 100 to 106 and highs in […]

A heat wave is prompting some schools in northern Wisconsin to cancel classes.  Public schools in Green Bay are canceling classes Friday. 7-18-19 three year old killed by falling tv in oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — A 3-year-old girl is dead after a television set apparently fell on her in Oshkosh.  An Oshkosh Police Department news release says officers responded Tuesday evening to a report of a TV falling on the child. Officers were told the child wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse. The girl was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.  The news release says police are continuing to […]
