The search for a missing 19-year-old Brookfield man who never resurfaced while swimming in Lake Michigan is expected to resume today. The teen has been identified as Aaron Q. Polnitz, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office. The search has turned into a recovery mission, meaning rescuers don’t think there is any hope of finding him alive. Polnitz was swimming with two other young adults when he didn’t come back above the water on Monday.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
