Two people are dead after a crash along I-41 in Washington County on Tuesday night. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arriving on scene just before 10:00 p.m. found a Ford Mustang that had crashed into a guardrail near Highway 60 and two bodies lying on the interstate. An initial investigation reportedly shows that the vehicle entered the median, crossed both lanes of traffic and slammed into the guardrail. Neither occupant of the Mustang was wearing a seat-belt so both were thrown from the car. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was flown to an area hospital where they were pronounced dead as well. I-41 Northbound was completely shut down for around four hours while crews worked to clear the scene. The identities of those killed have not yet been released.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
