A Wisconsin environmental group is praising governor Tony Evers for issuing an executive order to create a new office to help achieve his goal of 100 percent carbon-free electricity in 30 years. The governor issued an executive order Friday to create the Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy within the state Department of Administration. Ryan Billingham with the Wisconsin Conservation Voters says the order requires the office to achieve his 100 percent carbon free goal and also calls for the state to follow carbon reduction goals in the 2015 Paris Climate Accord. “Our organization is thrilled. This is something we having been working toward for a long time,” Billingham told WFDL news. Billingham says Wisconsin Conservation Voters is confident the goal can be met. Earlier last week, Democratic attorney general Josh Kaul joined a multi-state challenge of the Trump administration’s Clean Power Plan replacement.
