A Fond du Lac man is hospitalized in stable condition after police say he was accidentally shot in the head, and a 60 year old Fond du lac man is in custody. Police Chief Bill Lamb says the incident happened Thursday night at a South Seymour Street residence. Lamb told WFDL news the men were looking at a handgun when the suspect, thinking the gun was unloaded, pulled the trigger, and a bullet struck the 53 year old victim in the head. He was flown by helicopter to ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah where is listed in stable condition. Lamb says the 60 year man faces charges of endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
