8-19-19 drive sober or get pulled over campaign starts this weekend

8-19-19 semi driver convicted in bus crash that injured 33

PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) — A semi driver accused of taking too many prescription pills before his rig slammed into a disabled school bus and injured 33 people in Columbia County has been found guilty of felony charges.   A jury convicted 43-year-old Wayne Murphy Thursday night on 30 charges, including reckless injury. 8-17-19 fdl police investigating thefts from fdl auto dealership

Fond du Lac police are stepping up patrol after receiving a report of the theft of stolen auto parts from a Fond du Lac automobile dealership.  Summit Automotive reported that for the second night in a row diesel particulate filters were sawed off vehicles sometime Thursday night.   The parts are valued at several thousand dollars.

8-17-19 madison beltline shooting

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A shooting on the Beltline in Madison delayed the morning commute.  Dane County dispatchers received a report of a driver shooting at another vehicle about 8 a.m. Friday. Law enforcement officers were in the area near Rimrock Rd. looking for shell casings. There were no reports of injuries.

8-17-19 fdl man convicted in shooting death of beaver dam man

A Fond du Lac man has been convicted in the shooting death of a Beaver Dam  man.    Twenty one year old Nigel Schultz pled guilty to First Degree Intentional Homicide in the death of Bradlee Gerke of Beaver Dam.  According to a criminal complaint shortly after being released from prison for a previous felony, Schultz  shot Gerke 16 times in the back of the head and torso and buried Gerke in a shallow  grave.  Schultz told […]
